WindowsユーザーからもらったVectorworks12のファイルを開くと、MacのVectorworks2010のアプリが開かないうちに落ちてしまう。
Vectorworks12でなら開くことができるのに、なぜなのでしょう？

この症状は2010以降のVectorworksに発生します。2008・2009ではOK
Vectorworks12.5で開いてみると
クラスの名前のところが空白になっている。

そのクラスを選んで『編集』ボタンをクリックすると
#ref(classmoji02.png,around,30%)
　なんと　長い文字がはいっている。
　数えてみると全角文字で32文字。32文字以上の文字が入ると空白になるみたい。
　これを31文字以下にして、保存
　これでやっと　Vectorworks2010にて読み込めるようになる。
　しかし、32文字もよくクラス名を書いたもんだ。

他に四角にバッテンの文字が入っているときも同様の症状になります。

上記の現象はレイヤ名でも同様です。
このファイルを作業中に開くとすぐに落ちますから、古いファイルを
開くときには、まず保存してから開くようにしなくてはいけません。
また、シンボル名などの、文字数オーバーの原因もあります。
